मोटर यान अधिनियम, 1988 की धारा 189 – दौड़ और गति का मुकाबला —
जो कोई राज्य सरकार की लिखित सहमति के बिना किसी सार्वजनिक स्थान में मोटर यान की किसी भी प्रकार की दौड़ या गति का मुकाबला करने देगा या उसमें भाग लेगा, वह कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि तीन मास तक की हो सकेगी, या पांच हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से, अथवा दोनों से, और पश्चातवर्ती अपराध के लिए ऐसी अवधि के कारावास से जो एक वर्ष तक का हो सकेगा या ऐसे जुर्माने से, जो दस हजार रुपए तक का हो सकेगा, या दोनों से दंडनीय होगा ।
Section 189 of MV Act 1988 :- Racing and trials of speed —
Whoever without the written consent of the State Government permits or takes part in a race or trial of speed of any kind between motor vehicles in any public place shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with a fine of five thousand rupees, or with both and for a subsequent offence shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine of ten thousand rupees; or with both.
