मोटर यान अधिनियम 1988 की धारा 194F : – हार्न और ध्वनिमंद क्षेत्र — जो कोई,–
(क) मोटर यान चलाते समय–
(i) सुरक्षा सुरक्षित करने के लिए अनावश्यक रूप से या निरंतर या सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आवश्यकता से अधिक हार्न बजाना, या
(ii) हार्न के प्रयोग का प्रतिषेध करने वाले यातायात चिन्ह वाले क्षेत्र में हार्न बजाना, या
(ख) ऐसा मोटर यान चलाना जो ऐसे कट आउट का प्रयोग करता है जिसके द्वारा नि:शेष गैसों को अवमंदक से भिन्न किसी माध्यम से छोड़ा जाता है,
एक हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से दंडनीय होगा और दूसरे या पश्चातवर्ती अपराध के लिए दो हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से दंडनीय होगा ।
Section 194F of MV Act 1988 :- Use of horns and silence zones — Whoever–
(a) while driving a motor vehicle–
(i) sounds the horn needlessly or continuously or more than necessary to ensure safety, or
(ii) sounds the horn in an area with a traffic sign prohibiting the use of a horn, or
(b) drives a motor vehicle which makes use of a cut-out by which exhaust gases are released other than through the silencer,
shall be punishable with a fine of one thousand rupees and for a second or subsequent offence with a fine of two thousand rupees.
