मोटर यान अधिनियम 1988 की धारा 196 : – बीमा न किए गए यान को चलाना —
जो कोई धारा 146 के उपबंधों का उल्लंघन करके कोई मोटर यान चलाएगा या चलवाएगा, या चलाने देगा वह [प्रथम अपराध के लिए] कारावास से, जो तीन मास तक का हो सकेगा, या [दो हजार रुपए के] जुर्माने से, अथवा दोनों से, [और पश्चातवर्ती अपराध के लिए ऐसे कारावास जिसकी अवधि तीन मास तक की हो सकेगी या चार हजार रुपए के जुर्माने से या दोनों से दंडनीय होगा ।]
Section 196 of MV Act 1988 :- Driving uninsured vehicle —
Whoever drives a motor vehicle or causes or allows a motor vehicle to be driven in contravention of the provisions of section 146 shall be punishable [for the first offence] with imprisonment which may extend to three months, or with fine [of two thousand rupees], or with both [and for a subsequent offence shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine of four thousand rupees, or with both.]
