सीआरपीसी की धारा 214 — आरोप के शब्दों का वह अर्थ लिया जाएगा जो उनका उस विधि में है जिसके अधीन वह अपराध दण्डनीय है —
प्रत्येक आरोप में अपराध का वर्णन करने में उपयोग में लाए गए शब्दों को उस अर्थ में उपयोग में लाया गया समझा जाएगा जो अर्थ उन्हें उस विधि द्वारा दिया गया है जिसके अधीन ऐसा अपराध दण्डनीय है।
