IPC की धारा 314 — गर्भपात कारित करने के आशय से किए गए कार्यों द्वारा कारित मृत्यु –
जो कोई गर्भवती स्त्री का गर्भपात कारित करने के आशय से कोई ऐसा कार्य करेगा, जिससे ऐसी स्त्री की मृत्यु कारित हो जाए, वह दोनों में से किसी भांति के कारावास से, जिसकी अवधि दस वर्ष तक की हो सकेगी, दण्डित किया जाएगा और जुर्माने से भी दण्डनीय होगा;
यदि वह कार्य स्त्री की सम्मति के बिना किया जाए – और यदि वह कार्य उस स्त्री की सम्मति के बिना किया जाए, तो वह आजीवन कारावास से या ऊपर बताए हुए दण्ड से, दण्डित किया जाएगा।
स्पष्टीकरण – इस अपराध के लिए यह आवश्यक नहीं है कि अपराधी जानता हो कि उस कार्य से मृत्यु कारित करना संभाव्य है।

IPC Section 314 — Death caused by act done with intent to cause miscarriage –
Whoever, with intent to cause the miscarriage of a woman with child, does any act which causes the death of such woman, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine;
If act done without woman’s consent – And if the act is done without the consent of the woman, shall be punished either with imprisonment for life, or with the punishment above mentioned
Explanation – It is not essential to this offence that the offender should know that the act is likely to cause death.
