अनैतिक व्यापार अधिनियम 1956 की धारा 1 – सक्षिप्त नाम, विस्तार और प्रारम्भ–

(1) यह अधिनियम [अनैतिक व्यापार (निवारण)] अधिनियम, 1956 कहा जा सकेगा ।

(2) इसका विस्तार सम्पूर्ण भारत पर है ।

(3) यह धारा तुरन्त प्रवृत्त हो जाएगी, और इस अधिनियम के शेष उपबन्ध उस तारीख को प्रवृत्त होंगे जिसे केन्द्रीय सरकार शासकीय राजपत्र में अधिसूचना द्वारा नियत करे ।

1. Short title, extent and commencement.—

(1) This Act may be called ¹ [the Immoral Traffic (Prevention)] Act, 1956.—(1) This Act may be called 3[the Immoral Traffic (Prevention)] Act, 1956.”

(2) It extends to the whole of India.

(3) This section shall come into force at once; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force on such date ² as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
