सीआरपीसी की धारा 109 – संदिग्ध व्यक्तियों से सदाचार के लिए प्रतिभूति —
जब किसी कार्यपालक मजिस्ट्रेट को इत्तिला मिलती है कि कोई व्यक्ति उसकी स्थानीय अधिकारिता के अंदर अपनी उपस्थिति छिपाने के लिए पूर्वावधानियाँ बरत रहा है और यह विश्वास करने का कारण है कि वह कोई संज्ञेय अपराध करने की दृष्टि से ऐसा कर रहा है, तब वह मजिस्ट्रेट ऐसे व्यक्ति से इसमें इसके पश्चात् उपबंधित रीति से अपेक्षा कर सकता है कि वह कारण दर्शित करे कि एक वर्ष से अनधिक की इतनी अवधि के लिए, जितनी वह मजिस्ट्रेट ठीक समझे, उसे अपने सदाचार के लिए प्रतिभुओं सहित या रहित बंधपत्र निष्पादित करने के लिए आदेश क्यों न दिया जाए।

When 1 [an Executive Magistrate] receives information that there is within his local jurisdiction a person taking precautions to conceal his presence and that there is reason to believe that he is doing so with a view to committing a cognizable offence, the Magistrate may, in the manner hereinafter provided, require such person to show cause why he should not be ordered to execute a bond, with or without sureties, for his good behaviour for such period, not exceeding one year, as the Magistrate thinks fit.
