सीआरपीसी की धारा 139 :- स्थानीय अन्वेषण के लिए निदेश देने और विशेषज्ञ की परीक्षा करने की मजिस्ट्रेट की शक्ति —
मजिस्ट्रेट धारा 137 या धारा 138 के अधीन किसी जांच के प्रयोजनों के लिए–
(क) ऐसे व्यक्ति द्वारा, जिसे वह ठीक समझे, स्थानीय अन्वेषण किए जाने के लिए निदेश दे सकता है; अथवा
(ख) किसी विशेषज्ञ को समन कर सकता है और उसकी परीक्षा कर सकता है।

The Magistrate may, for the purposes of an inquiry under section 137 or section 138:
(a) direct a local investigation to be made by such person as he thinks fit; or
(b) summon and examine an expert.
